Their friendship is rarely seen in Singapore. One of the families we interviewed finally have their first harvest in the past 3 years and all the neighbors were so happy for them! The neighbors went to their land of crop to help them out with the harvesting. This is really friendship we are talking about, cheer as one succeeds and console when one is down.
Another families we interviewed has their house make out from stack of leaves as the roof and secured with branches and wood, the apartment is no bigger than Singapore’s one room flat. Although rain may drip in her house and life may be quite hard during the raining season but they were contented with what they have. The wife just hopes that they may have enough to eat. Through them, we see contentment and joy. Happiness shouldn’t be measure in term of luxuries and finance, they are thankful with what they have. It is true that thankful people are happy people.
